EMDR Intensive Therapy in Camas, WA
Beyond Coping: A Focused Path to Resolution
For many high-performers, weekly therapy can feel like a "restart" every time you sit down. By the time you’ve settled into the chair and regulated your system, the hour is nearly over. EMDR Intensives change that math.
Instead of managing symptoms week-to-week, an intensive provides the dedicated clinical bandwidth to move past the "pressure-cooker" cycle of passivity and aggression. We create the space your nervous system needs to actually finish the work it started—allowing for a biological homecoming that traditional 50-minute sessions often cannot reach.
Located in-person at the private Camas Suite, serving Vancouver, Washougal, and Southwest Washington.
Is an EMDR Intensive Your Next Step?
An intensive format is designed for those ready to stop "talking around" the problem and start resolving the root. This is often the right fit if:
Weekly therapy feels like a treadmill: You’ve gained insight, but your body is still reacting as if the threat is present.
You value resolution over maintenance: You prefer a focused, deep-dive approach that respects your time and your intelligence.
You’re tired of the "Always On" script: You want to resolve the hyper-vigilance that keeps you managing everyone else’s world while ignoring your own.
The stakes are high: You have a specific experience, accident, or performance block that needs to be addressed now, not in six months.
The Somatic & IFS Advantage: Why Intensives Work
In a standard session, your "Protector Parts" spend most of the time keeping you safe and composed. In an intensive, we have the time to honor those parts, help them step back, and allow your Authentic Self to lead the healing.
Nervous System Continuity: We stay in the "window of tolerance" longer, allowing for deeper processing without the interruption of the outside world.
Somatic Integration: We use the full suite of tools—wireless tappers, red light, and the grounding environment of the Camas Suite—to ensure your body feels as supported as your mind.
Momentum: Most clients find that a 3-day intensive can accomplish what 6 months of weekly therapy might struggle to touch.
What We Address in an Intensive
The "Pressure-Cooker" Cycle: Moving from passive people-pleasing to healthy, assertive agency.
High-Functioning Burnout: For medical professionals and athletes who are "performing" while exhausted.
Reclaiming Agency After Crisis: Reclaiming the ability to drive, fly, or engage in life without the "magical thinking" or fear that trauma creates.
Acute Trauma: Including the immediate aftermath of accidents, medical events, or professional crises.
Preparation & Safety
Because we are doing deep, focused work, stability is our priority.
Resourcing First: If your system is currently overwhelmed, we may begin with a few individual sessions to build your "grounding toolkit." We want your body to be convinced it is safe before we ask it to do the heavy lifting of processing.
Levels of Care: If you are currently navigating active suicidal thoughts or require a higher level of daily support, we will discuss the most appropriate starting point to ensure your stabilization before considering an intensive format.
Investment & Private Access
To provide the highest level of clinical focus and ensure your absolute privacy, EMDR Intensives are a private-pay service and are not billable to insurance.
While I am in-network for traditional weekly sessions in Missouri (BJC, SSM, Medica), the intensive format is a premium, out-of-network resource. This allows us to work without the restrictions, diagnostic requirements, or session-length caps often imposed by insurance companies.
Customized Planning: Intensives are tailored to your specific goals. A transparent quote will be provided during your initial consultation.
The Camas Suite: Your investment includes full access to our private, gated sanctuary, including somatic tools and our grounding environment.
Financing: For those who prefer a structured payment plan, we offer financing options through CareCredit.
Common Questions
What exactly is an EMDR intensive? It is a focused clinical immersion. Rather than 50 minutes, we work in multi-hour blocks that allow your brain to stay "online" and process trauma to completion without the stop-and-start of weekly life.
Do I have to be "broken" to do an intensive? Not at all. Most of my intensive clients are highly successful. They simply recognize that their current "survival skills" (like overcompensating or people-pleasing) are no longer serving them and want a way to rewire those patterns effectively.
Next Step
Stop managing the symptoms. Resolve the root.
